It depicts the scene of Santa Anna's surrender to Sam Houston at the battle of San Jacinto. The 2023 Texas Silver Round is the fourth and final release of the "Battles of the Texas Revolution" series by the Texas Mint. The battle of San Jacinto, fought on April 21st, 1836, was the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution. The Texian Army led by General Sam Houston, defeated Santa Anna's Mexican army in a fight that lasted just 18 minutes. Shortly thereafter, Santa Anna signed a peace treaty directing the Mexican army to leave the region, paving the way for the Republic of Texas to become an independent country.   2022 TEXAS SILVER ROUND The 2022 Texas Silver Round [https://www.texmetals.com/products/silver-coins/texas-silver-rounds] displays a representation of the Goliad Campaign which spanned six months, beginning with the Battle of Goliad in October of 1835 and ending with the Goliad Massacre on March 27, 1836 (described in our Texas Revolution Series Booklet [https://www.texmetals.com/texas-revolution-booklet]). It depicts Texian fighters facing off against Mexican soldiers in the foreground with a representation of the mission at La Bahía in the background. The 2022 Texas Silver Round is the third release in a four year "Battles of the Texas Revolution" series by the Texas Mint. You can read more about the Goliad Campaign on our 2022 Texas Silver Round Product Page [/2022-texas-silver-round].   2021 TEXAS SILVER ROUN The 2021 Texas Silver Round [https://www.texmetals.com/products/silver-coins/texas-silver-rounds] displays a scene from the famous Battle of the Alamo. It depicts two Texian soldiers including the American icon, Davy Crockett, attempting to fend off Mexican soldiers attempting to breach the walls of the Alamo. The 2021 Texas Silver Round is the second release in a four year "Battles of the Texas Revolution" series by the Texas Mint.   One of the most famous battles in American history occurred at the Alamo Mission in San Antonio de Béxar (modern-day San Antonio, Texas) from February 23rd - March 6th, 1836. At the end of a 13-day siege, President General Antonio López de Santa Anna and his Mexican troops reclaimed the Alamo Mission, killing the Texian and immigrant occupiers. Davy Crockett was one of the last standing defenders. 2020 TEXAS SILVER ROUND   The stunning 2020 Texas Silver Round [https://www.texmetals.com/products/silver-coins/texas-silver-rounds] depicts a scene from the Battle of Gonzales, with three Texian revolutionaries defending the famous Gonzales cannon, while brandishing the Come And Take It Flag. The battle of Gonzales, fought on October 2nd, 1835 was the first military engagement of the Texas Revolution, when the Texians refused to return a cannon belonging to the Mexican army and presented in response the now famous Come and Take It flag. The Texians won the battle in several hours upon initiating the attack on the Mexican soldiers.
