The Guilder was the national currency of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the 10 Guilder Gold Coin was minted by the Royal Dutch Mint from 1818 to 1853 and from 1875 to 1933. The obverse design bears the portrait of the four successive monarchs in power when the coins were minted. The most common 10 Guilder Gold Coin features one of four portraits of Queen Wilhelmina. The reverse design includes the crowned coat of arm that depicts a lion holding a sword and arrows with the inscription Koningrijk Der Nederlanden (Kingdom of the Netherlands).
